Hyderabad: Medchal police arrested Shaik Emam, the prime accused in the gruesome murder of a woman, following her identification through tattoos. On January 24, a half-burnt body of an unidentified woman was found near a culvert on the ORR at Muneerabad, in the Medchal police station area. Initial investigations revealed severe head injuries and tattoos on both her hands, including the names “R. Srikanth” and “Rohith” in Telugu and English. These tattoos were pivotal in identifying the victim.The police widely circulated the details of the tattoos and ornaments through media and social platforms. Relatives of the deceased recognised the markings and identified her as a resident of Bodhan, Nizamabad. She had recently moved to Kushaiguda and occasionally visited Medchal to meet relatives.Through phone records and CCTV footage, the police traced the accused, Shaik Emam, to Majeedpur, Shamirpet. Medchal police arrested him with the help of CCS, SOT and detectives from Dundigal and Genome Valley police stations.
