Hyderabad: CPM politburo member Brinda Karat said that the wealth of the rich had grown manifold even as the rights of the workers were being curtailed by bringing in new labour codes. Corporates were seeking to profit by increasing the work hours of employees.Addressing the fourth state conference of the CPM in Sangareddy, Karat said the party was at the forefront of forming the I.N.D.I.A. bloc to oppose the BJP. “The constituent parties should be role models for other states but the Congress government in Karnataka is bringing in pressure on employees to work for more than 12 hours.”B.V. Raghavulu, CPM politburo member, stated that except CPM all other parties were working for corporate interests. He said people were being divided on caste and religious lines. “Social justice is becoming a casualty by actions of the Central and state governments. Right to education, pension for old aged, free medical aid is the agenda of the party,” he said.If the ‘one nation one election’ proposal is adopted, the BRS, the YSRC and even the Congress would lose their relevance, Raghavulu said.CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said the party would fight the Congress in Telangana if it did not implement its poll-time guarantees.
