Kurnool: Former MP TG Venkatesh rubbished the speculation that thespian Chiranjeevi would join the BJP. We cannot say that the veteran would join the BJP just because he and his brother Pawan Kalyan have a good rapport with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Venkatesh hoped that an industrial revolution would occur in Kurnool to better the lives of people in the district. The senior leader, belonging to the Rayalaseema region, felt that instead of building the Iconic Bridge across River Krishna, to connect Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the chief ministers of both the Telugu states should discuss other important projects that could improve irrigation facilities. The bridge is planned to be built connecting Somasila in Telangana to Sangameswaram in Andhra Pradesh. The CMs should focus on constructing more projects that can resolve the irrigation and drinking water facilities in the states, he suggested. Venkatesh was speaking to mediapersons in Kurnool on Friday. He said that several YSRC leaders are in a confusion over switching sides to the BJP. He hoped that Andhra Pradesh would become more strong and develop in all fronts through the TD and Jana Sena’s partnership with the BJP. Venkatesh expressed concern over the increasing attacks on temple and demanded that the government should act strict on these cases, ensuring severe punishment to the guilty. Reminding that he and a few other political leaders had fought to keep the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana united, before the bifurcation, he said Telangana state was formed due to the support of a few Central ministers. The former MP wanted the Handri-Neeva project to be completed by expediting the works.
