Congress govt. introduces Bhubharathi Bill replacing Dharani portal in Telangana

Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy introduced Telangana Bhubharathi Bill Records of Rights in Lands-2024 in the Assembly on Wednesday replacing the existing Dharani portal, which was touted as one-stop destination for all the agricultural land transactions by the then BRS government in 2020. “It’s a historic day paving the way for the development of the State. An individual’s life revolves around the land and there is an unbreakable relationship between an individual’s life and the land. The Congress government, which implemented the ROR Act, continued it in the united Andhra Pradesh and the same was implemented before introducing Dharani in 2020,” he said. “Congress means a security and confidence for the people and because of that only former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi and Indiramma government is in the heart of the people. In an oblique reference to the former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s government, which introduced Dharani portal, Reddy said lakhs of problems araised within three years of introducing the portal,” he said. Several problems, which were supposed to be resolved at the revenue division level, were now landed in courts. He asked the BRS members whether it was not true that the previous regime prepared the modules of the portal by sitting in between four walls and forcibly implemented it. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during the Assembly election campaign in the State assured the people that Dharani would be dumped in Arabian Sea. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka echoed the same views during their election campaign Believing in the assurances given by Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Vikramarka, the people in Telangana gave verdict in favour of Congress enabling it to form the government in the State. As assured, the Congress government has taken up complete overhaul of the ROR Act 2020 completely and introducing Bhubharathi Bill. The Bill was introduced only after eliciting opinion of experts and several people across 33 districts in the State.
