Hyderabad: Two constables who were on the way to participate in a marathon here succumbed to injuries after they were knocked down by a four-wheeler that drove away after hitting them. The accident occurred near a culvert in Gajwel of Siddipet in the early hours of Sunday.The constables were going on a bike to report at their headquarters in Siddipet to participate in the marathon scheduled at ECIL, Gajwel station house officer Saida. The victims died on the spot.The deceased were identified as M. Venkatesh, 38, and G. Prandhamulu, 42, from Peddavadugu, Gadicharlapalli of Siddipet district. “We have registered a case and are making efforts to identify the four-wheeler through CCTV cameras,” Saida said.Venkatesh and Parandhamulu, worked as constables at Daulatabad and Rayapole police stations. Venkatesh has three children and Parandhamulu two, police said.
