Hyderabad: Minister Pongulati Srinivas Reddy announced plans to clean up the Dharani portal following the committee report, ensuring that all suggestions beneficial to farmers are incorporated. At a media conference, he revealed that management of the portal was transferred from a foreign company to the National Informatics Centre (NIC) this month. The Minister stated that changes would be made to correct errors in the 2020 ROR Act, with a new 2024 ROR Act expected to be approved in the upcoming assembly session. He emphasized that the new Dharani app and law would greatly benefit the public.Reddy criticized the previous government for abolishing the Village Revenue Officer (VRO) system without consultation, stressing that locals wanted an officer for revenue villages. He also highlighted that while the Congress government built 25 lakh houses between 2004 and 2014, only 1.52 lakh double-bedroom houses were constructed between 2014 and 2023. He defended his government’s development efforts, accusing opposition parties of spreading false narratives. Reddy also condemned the BRS for politicizing the Telangana Thalli statue and promised to strengthen the survey system with the recruitment of 1000 surveyor posts.
