Hyderabad: The Telangana BC Students Association, under the leadership of Vemula Ramakrishna, demanded that the state government immediately clear ₹4,000 crore in scholarship and fee reimbursement arrears. The association said the government was ignoring 16.75 lakh students from BC, SC, ST, and minority communities, who are unable to access higher education or secure jobs due to unpaid dues.Addressing a press conference, National BC Welfare Association president R. Krishnaiah claimed that some students were resorting to selling blood and kidneys to pay the dues and retrieve their certificates. He accused certain officials of conspiring to dismantle the fee reimbursement scheme.Ramakrishna said the government was celebrating one year in power while ignoring students’ struggles. “They pay contractors’ bills running into crores but fail to prioritise students’ education,” he remarked.
