Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has rejected allegations related to his government’s power deal with the Adani Group, clarifying that the agreement was made between two government agencies.Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, defended the state’s power deal with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), clarifying that the central government-run public sector unit had offered power to several states, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha, at a rate of Rs 2.49 per unit.Reddy pointed out that Andhra Pradesh had never purchased power at such a low rate before, emphasizing the financial benefits the deal would bring to the state. He also noted that additional incentives, including certain waivers, were offered as part of the deal, which would have further reduced costs for the state government.Speaking on the charges, Reddy stated, “It is all hearsay, and nobody has said that I have taken or that anybody has taken bribes.” He reiterated that the accusations were unfounded and lacked any concrete evidence.He added, “Adani meeting me is not something out of ordinary.
