Thiruvananthapuram: Wayanad MP-elect Priyanka Gandhi will arrive in Kerala on November 30. Priyanka Gandhi will come on a two-day visit to the state.This was disclosed by Congress MLA T Siddique, who was one of the main persons who organised Priyanka’s campaign in Wayanad in the recent Lok Sabha bypoll. Priyanka is scheduled to be sworn as MP in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. The election certificate from the Wayanad parliamentary by-election was presented to her by Congress leaders, in the presence of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Wednesday. This will be Priyanka Gandhi’s first visit to Wayanad after she registered a historic victory in her maiden electoral contest from Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala. Priyanka secured the win with a margin exceeding 4.10 lakh votes. She exceeded the victory margin of her brother, Rahul Gandhi, who won by 3.64 lakh votes in the previous Lok Sabha elections. She secured over 622,000 votes. The byelection in Wayanad was necessitated following Rahul’s decision to retain Rai Bareli. Soon after her stupendous victory, Priyanka shared a message of gratitude for Wayanad people; I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. I will make sure that over time, you truly feel this victory has been your victory and the person you chose to represent you understands your hopes and dreams and fights for you as one of your own. I look forward to being your voice in Parliament!” Siddique said Priyanka will continue the fight for the people of Wayanad raising their burning issues within and outside the Parliament.
