Telangana: The comprehensive family survey was launched on Wednesday under the supervision of district collectors in six districts of the erstwhile Warangal district, accompanied by an awareness campaign among the people. As per the 2011 census, officials divided the houses into blocks, each consisting of 150 units, within the respective districts.Wide publicity was conducted in the preceding two days with the help of Anganwadi and ASHA workers, and even by playing drums in villages.Enumerator teams were formed with secondary grade teachers(SGTs), assistant education officers(AEOs), anganwadi workers, junior assistants, panchayat secretaries, and community resource persons (CRPs).In the first phase, which began on Wednesday, enumerators visited houses to create awareness among the residents. They explained that the state government has undertaken the survey to study the social, economic, educational, employment, and political status and situation of people along with their castes. The survey will help individuals in the future to avail various welfare benefits offered by the state government.Enumerators pasted stickers on the houses, asking residents to keep necessary documents ready and urged them to provide accurate details of their families. Each form, designed by the government with 75 questions, takes at least 20 minutes to complete.Training was provided to enumerators to minimise mistakes. At the end of each day, all the details collected during the survey will be handed over to the special officers in the constituency, who, with the help of computer operators, will upload the information online.
