Nalgonda:The comments made by a Congress leader and a close aide of road and building minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on the delay in procurement of paddy and some other issues have created ripples in the district unit of the party.Speaking at a meeting of Congress workers, G. Mohan Reddy, a close follower of the minister, said farmers were forced to stay in paddy procurement centers (PPCs) for over 10 days to sell their crop. Paddy stocks in PPCs were soaked in rain water due to delay in purchase of their crop. In the BRS government, money was deposited in bank accounts of farmers within 10 days after purchasing of the crop while farmers now are having to wait for 15 days after selling their produce.Mohan Reddy said dissidence in people is growing day by day due to non-implementation of six guarantees by the Congress government. He pointed out that the poll promise by the Congress to hike Aasara pensions to Rs4,000 per month was not fulfilled. These issues should be resolved immediately if the Congress wants to come to power in the state after next Assembly elections. The video of the speech of the Congress leader went viral in social media groups of BRS.Mohan Reddy was an aspirant of a state level nomination post. As Gutha Amit Reddy, junior to Mohan Reddy, got nominated as chairman of Telangana State Dairy Development Corporation, Mohan Reddy seems to be upset with the party.
