Jabrill’s Father Was Arrested During His Childhood
During a 2015 interview with The Players Tribune, Peppers recalled struggling with his father’s previous arrest, which took place during his childhood.
“My father was arrested when I was 7 years old,” Peppers told the outlet. “In that split second when he was taken away, I went from having a father who I could work out with and who was on the sideline for all my football games, to being a kid searching for a male role model in his life. And I didn’t know how long he was going to be gone. He was just … gone.”
Peppers also pointed out that he “never” visited his father in prison because his parents “wouldn’t let [him].”
“They didn’t want me seeing him like that,” Peppers noted, before adding, “I talked to him on the phone almost every week for 15 minutes at a time. That was really the only relationship I was able to have with him growing up. So, all the lessons that fathers normally teach their sons, I had to learn on my own.”

Jabrill Was Arrested in 2024
In October 2024, Peppers was arrested for assault and battery on an intimate partner, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B drug that was allegedly cocaine in Braintree, Massachusetts, according to CBS News. Braintree police claimed that Peppers was involved in an altercation with a female at around 4 a.m. He was accused of hitting and choking her before allegedly pushing her down the stairs. Peppers pleaded not guilty.
The athlete was released on a $2,500 bail, and he agreed to have no contact with the female. According to multiple outlets, the female was Peppers’ girlfriend.
“Judge, despite the fact that this is the case where there is evidence I have already seen that sheds real doubt on the allegations, including videotaped evidence, my client will not object to that condition and he’ll agree to the same thing,” Peppers’ attorney said, per CBS News.
Was Jabrill Fired by the Patriots?
As of now, Peppers still plays with the Patriots. Following his arrest, the team released a statement, which read, “We are aware of an incident involving Jabrill Peppers over the weekend in which the police are currently investigating. We will have no further comment at this time.”
