Hyderabad: The south zone task force raided an illicit gambling den in Narasa Reddy Colony in Kalapathar on Monday and arrested 22 individuals playing poker. Authorities seized Rs 46,55,810 in cash, playing cards and a cash counting machine, apart from eight mobile phones and a two-wheeler.Police said Shaik Mohammed Khadeer of Kalapathar was the primary organiser who operated along with Mohd Nayeem and Shaik Pasha from Vattepally, and Mohd Majeed from Hussaininagar. These individuals were responsible for organising the illegal activities and bringing in players from various locations to play poker.55-Year-Old Mason Found MurderedHyderabad: Unidentified assailants murdered a 55-year-old mason reportedly due to previous enmity, Langar Houz police said on Monday. The victim, Mukthar Ahmed, was found dead within his boundary wall in Dream Welfare Colony late on Sunday night. When Ahmed did not turn up for work, his supervisor Syed Wasiuddin went to his house and found him dead. He later lodged a complaint with the police.Adilabad Cricketer Dies After Bathroom FallADILABAD: A promising cricketer Srihari (Chinni) allegedly died of head injuries he suffered when he fell on the ground in the bathroom while giving samples for medical tests at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad on Monday evening.Srihari is a resident of Shantinagar colony in Adilabad town. Srihari was a popular cricketer in the Adilabad district and had earned many accolades.Three Arrested for Growing Ganja in FieldsAdilabad: The Bajarhathnoor police arrested three persons for raising ganja plants in their fields. Boath circle inspector Ramesh informed that the fields were located on the outskirts of Gokonda and Dabadi villages. Police uprooted the ganja plants and destroyed them.Two killed as mini truck hits SUVNalgonda: Two persons died on the spot when a mini-truck hit an SUV in which they were sitting, at Bathulapalem in the district early on Monday. The victims have been identified as K. Yadhi, 22, and Sk Rizvan, 36, employed with a telecom major. Police said they were at the spot to inspect cable laying work. The bodies of the victims were shifted to the area hospital for post-mortem. Wadapally police have filed a case and are investigating.
