Telangana Assistant Registrar held in Rs.1 lakh bribe case

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested Bommala Srinivasa Raju, an Assistant Registrar (Arbitrator) at the office of Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from a complainant. The bribe was demanded from the complainant to do favour in the cases filed by the Navabharat Co-operative Urban Bank Limited, Hyderabad against the family members of the complainant and his friend. The ACB officials said Raju performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly and added that the bribe amount was recovered from his possession and his car’s dash board yielded positive in a chemical test. They produced Raju before the special court for ACB cases at Nampally after which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
