Hyderabad: An unidentified person escaped with Rs.20,000 and other valuables from the hundi at the famous Sri Gnana Saraswathi temple in Basara. The incident that took place on Wednesday night exposed chinks in the security apparatus at the temple. The police said the thief entered the temple, jumping the wall at 10 pm and succeeded in stealing money and other valuables from the hundi. He also managed to open an alamirah of a sari shop near the temple. Though the temple management deployed more than two dozen security guards, no one noticed him. With the help of footage collected from the surveillance cameras installed at the temple, the police are trying to identify the intruder.
