Trees Uprooted After Heavy Rain in Musheerabad

Hyderabad: Heavy rain in the city on Monday morning led to waterlogging and uprooted trees in the Musheerabad division. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) worked from 6 am to 7.30 am to address issues.The civic body successfully cleared water stagnation at eight locations, including Azamabad Crossroad in Ramnagar ward, Peddamma Colony in Hanmapuram, VST Junction, Jawaharnagar, and the LIC Office Bridge within Musheerabad Circle-15. Additionally, they removed fallen trees at Bagh Lingampally, which had been uprooted by the heavy rain. Residents of Krinss Villas in Manikonda municipality reported frequent flooding and road damage, even during light rain, and have called for urgent government intervention to resolve these ongoing issues. Meanwhile, the GHMC has demolished several dilapidated structures after conducting a survey and asking the residents of the identified buildings to vacate. The GHMC chief city planner held an online meeting with police officials n the matter. According to the GHMC, LB Nagar had 75 dilapidated structures of which 28 were demolished, 46 vacated/repaired/sealed. The respective figures for other zones were Charminar: 154, 31, 46; Khairatabad: 123, 17, 46; Secunderabad: 132, 11, 11; Serilingampally: 33, three, 12; and Kukatpally with 49 dilapidated structures where two were demolished and 18 were vacated, repaired or sealed. Officials were directed to immediately ensure that the residents of the listed structures vacated the premises. Instructions were issued to evacuate people living along old and dilapidated compound walls. It was mandated that no new excavations be carried out until the end of the monsoon season, and directives were given to barricade the excavated portions to prevent any incidents.
