Approximately more than 40 people are reportedly missing and one dead in Himachal Pradesh after multiple cloudbursts were reported in Kullu, Shimla and Mandi districts on Thursday night.Sources said that more than 32 people were reported missing following a cloudburst at Samej Khud in Jhakri, Rampur in Shimla district. Also a cloudburst was reportedly hit Rajban village and near Tikkan Thalukot village in Mandi district of the state where one person was killed another critically injured and nine are missing. All of them are buried under the debris and a rescue operation is underway to pull them out. While yet another cloud burst hit in Paravati Valley of Kullu thus the Malana 2 Power Project has been worst hit. The water flow level has risen and people were advised to stay away from the river and nearby areas. In another incident of cloudburst at Nirmand in Kullu district, seven persons missing, connectivity disrupted, several houses washed losses are being assessed.The rescue operation are going at all the places. The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway has been washed away at various points. Also after flash floods a strch of the highway was closed for traffic in Kullu district.Also scary scenes are coming from Shat Sabji Mandi in Manikaran where a building collapsed and was swept away in raging Parvati river in Kullu this morning. Not only that as the flow of Beas River increased after heavy rains in Kullu district last night thus horrifying visuals are coming.Additional District Magistrate of Mandi Dr Madan Kumar said that as per the information received as of now one body has been recovered, one person is in seriously injured and is being evacuated to the hospital and around nine people remain missing. “ The emergency response teams including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF, Himachal Pradesh Police and Tehsildar Padhar are at the spot. Besides a medical team has been rushed to assist with the rescue team and assist in the present situation. The Rescue operations are currently underway with teams working tirelessly to locate and assist those affected by the disaster,” he added.
