May India-Bhutan friendship keep scaling new heights,” the Prime Minister said on ‘X’.Modi and Bhutan’s PM Tshering Tobgay exchanged agreements on energy, trade, digital connectivity, space, agriculture, and youth connect, among others.“The governments of Bhutan and India exchanged 9 memoranda of understanding (MoU) strengthening the scope and depth of the cooperation and friendship between our countries,’’ said PM Tobgay.Modi said the MoUs and agreements will add momentum to India-Bhutan relations. “To fulfil your goals, India stands with you for BB – Brand Bhutan and Bhutan Believe. I assure you that the upcoming 5 years will give a new energy to our relations. We will work to create avenues in the connectivity, infrastructure, trade and energy sectors,” Modi said in his address after being bestowed the highest civilian award.“We collaborate and celebrate each other’s successes. When India’s mission Chandrayaan was successful, the people of Bhutan were as happy as the people of India were,” he said. Modi assured Bhutan’s top leadership that India will stand by the Himalayan kingdom in its quest for development.Talks on expanding bilateral collaborationIn a meeting between the King of Bhutan and PM Narendra Modi, the two leaders explored initiatives to expand bilateral collaboration in the fields of energy, development cooperation, youth, education, entrepreneurship and skill development. They also discussed progress in connectivity and investment proposals, including in the context of the Gelephu Mindfulness City project.
