Hyderabad: The students of Government PG College in Secunderabad staged a demonstration seeking the authorities to provide minimum security to them. According to reports, three persons entered the hostel premises climbing down the wall and barged into a bathroom and then made some signals. Gaining knowledge about the intrusion, the girl students tried to catch them but two of them absconded. The students thrashed the other intruder and handed him over to the Begumpet police. They staged a protest at the hostel demanding that strict action should be taken against the remaining culprits. They wanted the vice-chancellor to take necessary measures to avoid repetition of such incidents. DCP Rohini said that three outsiders entered the women’s hostel and behaved inappropriately. She promised to provide extra bandobust at the hostel to ensure a protective environment to the students. She also ensured the students of speaking to their principal and taking appropriate steps to prevent intrusion of strangers on to the premises. A comprehensive inquiry would be conducted into the incident and other details would be revealed.PG
