Hyderabad: The fight over Congress’ advertisement for the party’s 85th plenary which appeared in many national dailies continues though the party leadership has expressed apologies for the mistake.
DPAP chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad and Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh are engaged in a Twitter fight over the party’s advertisement which missed leaders like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Slamming the party over the plenary advertisement, Azad tweeted, “After my exit from the party, BJPisation of Congress is taking place. In these pictures, where is the front line freedom fighter Maulana Azad?”.
In a strong reply to Azad who left Congress to form his own political party, Jairam Ramesh said, “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad never ever betrayed the Congress Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad. Did you see the backdrop at Raipur where Maulana Azad was prominently displayed.
Responding to Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remarks, Vaibhav Walia, secretary communications of AICC tweeted:
Maulana Azad and all freedom fighters are at the core of the Congress party and our ideology. A picture of our esteemed leader Maulana Azad on the Dias of the 85th Plenary Session says it all!
Another tweet on the topic was from Sushant Mundkar
Now after leaving the Congress they are seeing all over world with their New Glasses of “चुनाववादी” who are unable to see the big display picture of stage…
Earlier, the Congress leadership has apologised for the ‘in-excusable slip-up’. Leaders like Jairam Ramesh, Manish Tewari have tweeted expressing apologies for leaving out the great freedom fighter from the plenary advertisement.
“Today an ad released by INC did not carry a photograph of Maulana Azad. It was an inexcusable slipup. Responsibility for it is being fixed & action will be taken. Meanwhile this is a most sincere apology from us. He will always remain an iconic & inspiring figure for us & India,” tweeted Jairam Ramesh.
