Aspirants for police job protest

HYDERABAD: Scores of police job aspirants, who had cleared the preliminary written test but were disqualified on the basis of their height, staged a protest at the Central Police Lines at Amberpet , demanding remeasurement of their height.

Despite the Telangana High Court directions to measure their height again manually, the officials had ignored the orders, the protesters alleged.

Alleging discrepancies in the measurement of their height through digital meters, the candidates had approached the High Court which directed the recruitment officials to re-do the process manually.

The officials had again used digital meters which showed the candidates’ height as being less than before, the protesters alleged. “This is a clear attempt to disqualify us again. We demand that the officials follow the High Court orders,” they said.
