VIJAYAWADA: Macherla YSR Congress MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy has condemned the violent clashes that have erupted in Palnadu and accused Telugu Desam of orchestrating the same.

The ruling party legislator alleged that the TD activists had clearly come armed with sticks and rods in the name of organising their Idem Karma Ra programme. “Their intention is to destroy social harmony in Palnadu, so that they could tarnish YSRC’s image and benefit politically,” he remarked.

The Macherla MLA accused Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh of sending faction leaders to start the riots. He pointed out that the area is well known for being faction-ridden.

“TD has misused these feelings to gain political benefits. The opposition party’s activists had come prepared for the violence. They indulged in arson and attacked cars, homes and even people,” Ramakrishna Reddy observed.

He said the entire violence has been captured on cameras. He demanded that authorities take speedy action against the culprits.
