NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that it is not the time for blame game and politics as the pollution level in the national capital is worsening. Kejriwal also demanded that the Centre should take specific steps to save north India from pollution.
The Delhi CM has announced the closure of primary classes from Saturday till the air quality in the national capital improves.
“We are closing all outdoor sports activities above class 5 students in schools,” Kejriwal on anti-pollution measures.
The CM said that the Punjab government was responsible for stubble burning and assured that it will be significantly reduced in the state by next year.
He also recommended a joint meeting of CMs and expert opinions for solving the stubble-burning problem.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that there are 1.20 lakh machines to bury stubble in fields in Punjab and village panchayats have passed resolutions not to burn the stubble.
“More quantity of stubble is due to bumper paddy crop in Punjab. I promise to find a solution by November next year,” said CM Bhagwant Mann.
