Hyderabad: Half a dozen people got jail term in Nizamabad district for driving their vehicle in a drunken condition. These drunk drivers were caught during a special drive carried out by the traffic police in Nizamabad district. Traffic Inspector P Prasad counseled 11 persons who were caught for driving in an intoxicated condition and produced before the court imposed a fine of Rs.9,500 on half a dozen people and sentenced five people to imprisonment. While a motorcyclist got three days jail term, three others got two days and another person one day jail sentence. One Town Traffic Inspector B Raghupathi said a motorcyclist Salman of Gauthamnagar in Nizamabad got two days jail term for driving in an alcoholic condition. For the last few days, the Nizamabad police intensified their drive against the drunken driving at various locations to nab the errant motorists. After counseling them, the police are producing the motorists before the court concerned in the district for ensuring punishment to them.
