4.5 Lakh Indiramma Houses to Come Up in Telangana, Says Minister Ponguleti

Khammam: Minister for Revenue and Housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Sunday said 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses would be constructed at a cost of Rs 22,000 crore. The government was committed to providing Indiramma houses to all eligible families in a phased manner, he said.Owning a house would help the poor lead a respectful life and reduce the burden of rent. Distribution of house plots to poor families would also be launched soon, the minister added.About 3,500 Indiramma houses would be sanctioned to each Assembly constituency, Srinivas Reddy said afterinaugurating the building for a primary health care sub-centre at Guvvalagudem of Nelakondapally Mandal. He also distributed cheques of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to 140 beneficiaries at the event.Stating that the state government had accorded top priority to education and health, Srinivas Reddy said the government was planning to bring reforms in these fields to make them more accessible to the poor. He listed out all integrated residential schools and advanced skill development training centers.Insurance coverage offered under the Aarogyasri scheme has been hiked to Rs 10 lakh from Rs 5 lakh. Reminding that the state government has initiated the waiver of crop loans, he said the problems faced by the farmers and land owners due to Dharani would be solved.Telangana State Warehouse Corporation chairman Rayala Nageshwar Rao, Telangana Irrigation Development Corporation Limited chairman Muvva Vijay Babu and district medical and health officer Dr B. Malathi attended the programme.
