3 Telangana Ministers assess crop damage in Siddipet

Hyderabad: Three Telangana Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Thummala Nageswara Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday assured famers, who suffered losses because of unseasonal rains that lashed several parts of the State in the last few days, that the State government would support them on all fronts. Agriculture Minister Nageswara Rao, Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar gave the assurance to farmers while inspecting crops damaged during the recent hailstorm at Ibrahimnagar in Siddipet district. Following requests from the party cadres, the Ministers inspected the crops. They interacted with farmers to assess the extent of losses incurred. They assured the farmers not to panic, affirming that the government stands firmly in support of them. The Ministers were on the way to Sircilla in erstwhile Karimnagar district when they inspected the damaged crops. Senior officials from the agriculture, horticulture and revenue departments were also present during the inspection. At the field-level, the officers from the agriculture and horticulture are conducting inspections in villages to assess the damage caused to crops and mango trees due to the recent rains. After completion of the assessment, the officers would submit a detailed report to the head office for necessary action.
