Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s fire accidents spree continued, with three major blazes occurring in different parts of the city on Friday. There were no casualties. The first incident occurred in the early hours of Friday at a tiffin centre at Nizampet in Bachupally. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a gas leak. As workers and even visitors at the centre noticed the fire erupting, they immediately informed the fire department, who reached the spot and doused the flames. In the second incident, a fire erupted at around 9.45 am at a recording studio in the Falaknuma police station area. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit. After the owner of the studio – Iftikhar – noticed the fire, he informed the Mughalpura fire station and the Falaknuma police, who reached the spot and doused the flames within 30 minutes. Iftikhar was asleep when the fire erupted. However, the smell of the smoke woke him up. He lodged a complaint with the police, who registered a case. A short circuit is suspected to be the reason behind the fire. Ifthikar reported an estimated property loss of Rs 10-12 lakh. In the third incident that occurred at a fabrication shop near Pillar no.112 in Gudimalkapur at around 1.30 pm, an estimated property loss of Rs 30-40 lakh was reported. No casualties were reported as the owner’s family members, who live right above the shop, acted quickly and informed the fire station. Two fire engines were deployed and the fires were doused within one and a half hours.Gudimalkapur inspector K. Raju said that based on primary evidence, the cause of the fire is known to be a short circuit. A case was registered and further investigation is underway.
