18 non-Hindu TTD Employees Transferred

Around 18 TTD employees, who are non-Hindus and involved in promotion of other religions, were transferred. The 18 employees have been following non-Hindu traditions, hurting the sentiments of the Hindu devotees. Following the directions of TTD Board chairman BR Naidu and basing on the resolution adopted during the Board’s meeting on November 18, 2024, the action has been initiated. Several devotees opined that the employees had desecrated the TTD’s sanctity by violating the pledge to follow Hinduism, taken during their induction into job. The TTD authorities issued orders to take the disciplinary action. The 18 employees facing action include TTD Mahila Polytechnic College principal, SVU Ayurveda College Principal, a few lecturers and others. According to a resolution adopted by the TTD Board, non-Hindu employees should not be appointed for duties at the TTD temples or during celebrations at the shrines. The non-Hindus employees should either be transferred to other government departments or ousted from jobs giving the PRC. Meanwhile, the Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati is preparing to celebrate Teppotsavalu from February 6 to 12. During these days, the idols of Sri Govindarajaswamy, along with his consorts, would be taken around the Pushkarini from 6.30 pm to 8 pm. Later, the processional deities would be taken around the Mada streets, according to a press release by the TTD.
